Getting the message across

Naturally, the communications aspect of your application is absolutely crucial if a fund is to understand the project. There will often be several readers at each recipient fund, and you cannot expect everyone to be an expert in your field. Think in terms of developing sections for the different target groups and start and end complicated sections with a reading guidance and summary respectively. Using multiple media – texts, numbers, illustrations, images, video clips, etc. – also helps support the readers' understanding of what you wish to achieve. A good application is permeated by an underlying vision. Everything from its title, the CVs, graphics, presentation of team and organisation etc. should point in the direction of why your product or solution is especially necessary to develop. Bringing things together in a coherent application is time consuming, so make sure you have enough time to develop and rewrite the application several times over.
